Guys
I am keen to know where to by epoxy resin in Melbourne. Most surf shops sell tubes but I have a number on boards and am keen to fix them including a pretty big delamination on one of them.

The delamination is under the grip so any bright idea's on removing the deck rubber so that I could reuse it would also be handy?

I am in 2 minds weather to strip the entire section off or peel up one half and coat with resin then weight back down the top. - I know the first option is the best bet can help hoping the second is a whole lot easier????

All advice is much appreciated.

Andrew

I use Botecote....its good gear
Give these guys a call.
South Eastern Sails www.southeasternsails.com.au

Or you can buy it online from www.boatcraft.com.au

If you want to fix your delam properly you really should strip the delammed skin off and reskin it with the same layup and feather in all the edges. Your gunna need a new deck grip!!
Have fun, it's a mongrel of a job.

Thx deano - much appreciated - looks like I have a project for a windy day. I thought I would need to go down the path of remove and fix properly but hoped that someone had had an easier way.

Is there a good way to get the grip off?

Thx

Andrew

Try a heat gun/hairdryer on a low setting first. If not use or too slow, I've found thinners on a wet cloth to work. Try a search here - has been covered before.
Also the board lady for how to fix.....

Good luck

Deano the windy days are all yours - give me a nice clear day with some swell and he right tide - not too much to hope for.

Thx for the advice guys - I will head down to seaford and get some epoxy, and peel back the deck grip.

All good guys

Andrew
