Took out my latest shape this morning. Totally stoked with how it goes. I have a habit of sliding the tail out when bottom turning so I was really concerned going with a wide tail, but ol Chunk of Love sticks like sht to a blanket.

Nice 1 Clarky . How many ltrs is that chunk of love ? And what is it in comparison to your everyday board (width / length etc ). I'm thinking of getting myself something along the same lines .

Looking good. Did you shape yourself? Going to be a lot of us getting around on these sort of boards soon methinks......

probably finished at about 102 liters It's 7'7 and 27 wide. My previous board was 8'5 and 29 wide. I was pleasantly surprised with the stability and it's glide. Definitely think about getting one.

Was that the 8'5" starby pro? And when you say you were surprised, does that mean it's still tippy but not as much as expected, or that it's comparable to the 8'5" or better?
cheers

this would be insane in the right conditions... Who shaped this? Modern mono hull concept like the Vanguard?

The 8'5 that I'm comparing to is one that I shaped as well. I just got in from a surf on Chunk of Love sets 5 ft little northerly bump but more messy due to rips and I was pretty confident all the time with regard to stability. I've never surfed that late in front of my place but I just couldn't come in.

That's pretty good that you can drop the length and width by that much and still call it stable . I gotta get 1 .

That seems quite evident doesnt it. These shorter boards with attention to more specific detail in terms of shape appear to be the direction
the sport is taking.

Now for all you heavier guys over 85kg to lose some weight :)
