Need some advice please
With carbon boards without a pressure valve how do you look after them during a day out in the summer heat
Thanks
John
If the board came without a vent-plug from an established manufacturer then its because it doesn't need one. Keep out of sun as much as possible as you would with any other board. Retro-fitting a vent-plug will surely void your warranty - not recommended.
Always put your board in the shade. If you can't, a good trick is to minimize their sun exposure by putting them on the rail, facing the sun.
Best trick is to paint them white, of course.
PS: beware of aluminum boards, you will burn your big dong...
Thanks for the replys
My boards are from respected manufactures so I presumed they didn't need a vent , just wanted to check as there are quite a few threads saying you need one to stop boards over pressure
Thanks
John
Have bought from haberdashery suppliers white stretch polycotton tube about 26" wide. Tie a knot in one end and pull over the board. Helps reflect the sun and won't cook the board like a padded cover. Cost about $6/mtr from where I got it from.
