Hello all
Time to end my SUP drought. Previous board was a 10'5 x 30 Drive which I found a bit stiff. About the right level of tippiness for me though.
I demo'd the 9'2" Allwave recently but found it had too much yaw and lacked glide for my preference. I also felt it had a bit too much stability (ie too wide).
So wanting to go with something around 10' giving the semi long board feel while still being reasonably sharp in the carve. At this length, I think I need around 150 litres or so and 31" to be comfortable.
What are my best options for a surfy board?
I see the 2012 9'11" psh hull ripper might fit the bill (31" wide) although I am not sure of the volume. I'd appreciate comments on the feel of this board from anyone experienced, as it is unlikely I would get a demo here in Perth.
And any other options I should be considering?
Much appreciated in advance.
Regards
Marv
From the other thread, it looks like I could add a Naish Hokua 9'10" by 30.25 at 150 litres to the list.
Also JP Fusion 9'8" by 31 at 152 litres.
Have had the surftech "al merrick" 10'1" for a couple of months now - surfs between mal and shortboard style - not zappy, but still will rocket down the line and throw long arc turns with spray off cutbacks (sometimes) paddles onto anything - ankle high( go 80 metres along beach on a almost non existent wave ) Ridden it up to head high - must get on wave early - late drops (semi freefalls dont work for me. I am 88 k - there is a 9'7" with similar qualities - see vid on net
