I had the 8'2 in the previous construction and wrote a pretty comprehensive review on it if you can find it?
Cant comment on the new construction but the previous one was incredibly solid and felt as strong as the strongest from any main brand I've tried, and stronger than many. It wasn't light though.
i think the 8'2 would be a different kettle of fish to the 8'7 and always thought the larger shapes would be a better allrounder.
good nose rocker despite the wider nose, also a decent whack of tail rocker. Took me a few frustrating sessions to get used to it- the thinned out, winged, channel tail compared to the fuller nose made it a bit unstable as it seemed to pitch front and back, in addition to side to side.
Once i I got used to it, the performance was epic. I had mine out In double overhead peeling waves to chop and smaller stuff. First board I've ever had as a quad that ripped as hard or harder than a thruster! The channels and tail rocker are an epic combo.
The rails were also very pinched and performance orientated.
For me if they had made it in carbon and made the volume placement a touch more linear to make it more stable it would've been an absolute killer! The longer and wider models probably have this sorted though? Seems like a lot of board for the price, although I haven't tried the new construction or seen what it weighs?
