Thinking today that putting something like rspro hexa traction offcuts or the rspro shaft grip cutting a small bit off and sticking it onto the handle.

At the moment I use wax but it doesn't last long and sometimes I forget to re apply.

Has anyone done anything similar and how didi it go? What about sanding the handle for grip.

Edit** I was meant to post this in general chat.

I mean wax on the T handle.

I use the rspro grip on the shaft its awesome. Recently bought another paddle so looking putting rspro on the shaft and just trimmimg a bit off and putting it on the T handle.

I've always used paddle grips... Firstly the Jimmy Lewis EVA grip & then the RSPro grip especially for raceboard training & events like the M20 but now i only use the Paddle Wax grip for everything from sup surfing, foiling & raceboard training...love it...I get 6-12 sessions out of it before re-applying... No mess, no melting...

Anyone ever use Versa-grip for this?
I have some offcut and considering using it.

Be careful with what you use as grips for paddle shafts, it is very easy to get blisters with things you would consider too slippery for your feet.

I got blisters by just sanding gingerly with 200 grit. I cannot use less than 400 grit.

I do not know what versa-grip is like, but if it is designed for surfboard decks you may want to sand it before using it on a paddle shaft to smooth it quite a bit.

I use Willgrip , from sporting stores. Just rub some on your hands before each session, but not too much or you will get blisters like Colas mentioned

I actually went with a few little bits of rspro rail tape off cuts I had laying around in my surf draw. Seems alright so far.

I use always sail gloves. Perfect grip on wet surfaces, also when you keep the leash in the beach break. Very strong and durable the gloves protect you from shocks, from the sun and from blisters. I can't do without.

I use bar tape of a road bike. Cheap and feels comfortable.
