Hi,

I have seen Bamboo Style SUPs for sale with Air Vents and a lot without Air Vents too.

Any thoughts ?

Im sort of thinking with the heatwave at the moment might be a good thing, ?

I have also seen them on the Top Deck, Middle of Grip and also underneath near the fins.

Any recommendations ?

Nobody to reply to you, so i do it in first:

Air vent are useful on any kind of board.
In first, i put air vent on my custom board to allow breathing the EPS during fixing dings. Otherwise , air bubble blows the resin when it is going off.
During heatwave, for bamboo or other kind of reinforced layers i think air vent can't do no much against delamination if some pressure water stream want to burst between the layers of deck reinforcement.

I think it is a trade-off:
- Without air vents, the board will be stressed by the permanent pressure changes with the temperature changes. It will age prematurely.
- With air vents, you run the risk of leaks by a damaged joint.

What is the greater risk? vent failure or delamination? Each brand makes its own decision...
