Hi,
My wife and I are new to SUP and are looking at buying a board for us both to share. We are looking at a 10'-11' board. We plan on using it mostly in flat water and a little bit in the ocean (not for wave riding at this stage). Don't have a huge budget - approx $1200 max. We have looked at the following board brands - Dripping Wet, Sunny King, East Coast Surf -ECS and NSP. Any suggestions on what we should stay away from or if you could recommend any of the above brands.
Thanks

A lot of people say good things about NSP. Tough - and pretty good in the surf. Where are you in Australia? The buy and sell section on this site is tops. Consider a used board. And yep, for what ytu say you want, go at least 10' and at least 30 wide for starters. That's just my opinion, of course, but i'm a surfer who likes to sup in waves and on flatwater, so i think i know where you are coming from.
Happy hunting....
Cheers, Dave

Hard to go past an 11 nsp. Proven quality boards that surf and paddle well and are as tough as nails. You will never wear it out and you will lose very little money on it if you ever sell it down the track - but you will probably never sell it. There are some cheaper boards selling new for under a grand but in comparison to the nsp's they are shlt !!

Thanks for the feedback. We are on the North Coast of NSW so the buy and sell section might not be a bad option because we can easily cover the two states. Everyone on the forum seems to be talking a lot about the Naish boards. They seem to be the most popular and great quality so maybe I might check out a second hand one for the same price.
