Hi new to sea breeze but loving the open honest feedback and advice.
I'm new ok let's say very new to SUP. Once on flat water. Saying that I've surfed for 30 years just about to launch into an early 40th birthday present of a stand up.
I'd like to do some flat 20% 80% small med surf. I've ridden long boards short boards and most in between. I don't want to bust lips or launch a board. I would love to be able to paddle out slide into a few waves carve a turn here and there and get a few flat water exercise days in between.
I'm 5'10 and 80 kegs and looking at either the 8'10 or 9'5 mana?
If these were the two which would suit better. I'd love to have the luxury of an upgrade or second board in a year but I have to be realistic.
Thanks all![]()

Hi DJ
I've read many of your posts and your footage steered me towards the Mana.
How does the 9'5 handle 4-5 foot waves? That'd be max anything bigger and I'd be prone.
Thanks for the reply
Dave
Hi Dave,
+1 for the 9'5" Mana.
The difference between the 9'5" and and 8'10" manas is substantial, with a difference of 30 litres and almost 2 inches on the rail, the 8'10 feels a lot smaller. At 80kg with 0 SUP experience you will see a lot of benefits in the 9'5". The 9'5" is also going to paddle better on the flats and will be more fun in the small surf.
The Mana's rip in the bigger surf too... just watch guys like Chuck & Robbie ripping in well over head surf ![]()
Cheers,
Marcel
Thanks Marcel
You and Luke looked after me today with the 9'5!!!
Great service great advice and a cracker of a deal!
Im so happy and can't wait to get that delivery and get out there.
For all looking for a great experience go see Luke at Ocean Addicts. Well worth a trip to the sunny coast!
I will demo the 8'5,8'10 and the 9'5 this Monday. I will probably get the 9'5. I have the old 10' Mana, but got excited with the reviews of the 2014 Mana models! Loved the design!
