Thumbs Up

A quick armature review on my new prized possession. Its a 2014 8 foot 6. X 31 x 125L Tabou supa surf.
I am a 175cm 83 kg (stocky. short arse) 52 year old kite surfer and Stand up paddler of average ability but tremendous enthusiasm. On the water at every opportunity even to the detriment of my marriage. LOL.
First of all many thanks to Reg and Daniel,at Wind Surfing Perth /Kite Addiction for giving me the opportunity to return the board if I found it to difficult to handle . This allowed me to be brave in my choice and not thinking conservatively, and I am so glad that I gave the shorter version a shot,
1st Paddle was at a rushed pace, in chest high swell, had places to be etc ,so iI stole a hour on the water , Ive come off a 9 foot 6x158l JP, So it was with A somewhat Lets see how this goes feeling as I paddled out ,Well let me tell you. I caught 3 waves and paddled back out before I got my wet suit wet and this was due to the fact that i got cleaned up in a breaking set paddling out. Its amazingly stable due to its 31 inch wide middle section .and nice and quick on the wave face , remembering I dont think slash and turn, more of a arching turn here and a arching turn there.
What was really obvious was how it handled the white water on a close out, typically I am really struggling to stay upright. but the Tabou seemed easy to negotiate around a section back on to wave face. Maybe due to the bottom have a single concave not sure, just Know its a easy board to catch waves on ,fun and responsive to turn.
Build qual.. looks marvelously finished and durable, big grippy pad underfoot , and light to get on and off roof racks,

In conclusion i am thrilled with the little sucker I have had some great sessions already, and cant wait for the next . cheers Jeff
