What are people's thoughts of the 2013 fanatic carbon pro 8,75 or other paddles the same size? I've noticed the 2014 range doesn't come in a 8,75. Is there a reason for this?

I don't think any serious paddler would be using such a large paddle now. The 7.25 to 8'' is the go. There have been a few posts on this recently and I think you will find that 7.25 is the go with a higher cadence and you don't get the feeling that the paddle is going to drag you off the board.

Digsy I used the 8.75 carbon back to back with the new 7.25" blade. The 8.75 is a very big blade, and an old school shape that really is quite oversized unless your Dave Kalama size and on a DWer on a race board. I run a QB kanaha 100 which I love but of the fanatic range personally I think the 8" for me is better than the 7.25, but I am larger built. I know a lot of very good racers and surfers use the 7.25. Go for a paddle at your local and swap paddles with people....best way to find what you like and dont like.

Cheers for the advice guys. I've changed it for a 8". At only 74kg the 8.75 is too big I think
