Just finished my first flat water paddle on my new board. I'm 5'8, 185lb. The last time I surfed was 15 years ago. I decided to get something I could grow into and use for several years. All of your advice was great and I made my choice of board based on all of your opinions. Thanks for that. First time up I found the board to float me well, stable, picks up speed quickly, tracks well and when you pick up some speed the board lifts and glides on top of the water and it's very easy to paddle. I tried to post photos but had no luck, not sure what I'm doing wrong, maybe someone give me some advice.
Cheers,

Hi
Did you get the single fin GS or the tri fin GT?
I bought the latter about 4 weeks ago and it's great.
Had two little surfs at north Collaroy and had a ball except for the back wash.
Hope you enjoy it.

Got the GT, love it. I,m going to practice on the flat out front before hitting the surf. I thought it came with 3 glassed wood fins. Mine came with center fin wood and thrusters fiberglass or plastic.

Why do they not include thruster boxes for the GS???
Good question.. I'm guessing it's a way to keep the price down on the cheaper option board.
BTW.. I've been happy running my GT 10'6".5 as a single fin but I found the fin needs to be a little bigger than the standard center fin that comes on the three fit set up.. I'm guessing the GS fin would be the same size.. It felt a little drifty without the side fins till I used a slightly bigger fin.
