Hi every one. I'm new here. After surfing for 35 years I recently started stand up paddle surfing on a Laird Pearson. As a 'bog bloke', according to my son, 6'3" and 110 kgs, I chose the 12'1". Love the board but am now looking for something looser. After doing a bit of research I thought the Icon would be a good all round choice.
Would like to hear from others.

I have been riding this board in the Pure construction for about four months now. It is my first board and has served me very well so far. I have it set up as quad at the moment and it seems to get up and go pretty well. I have ridden it in waist to just overhead waves at Point More (Gerro) and its been up to the job - not sure about me though! Its fairly loose (as far as a 10 foot board can be) and reasonably stable for me, but I am a fair bit lighter than you at around 85KG's. I got my board from Jason at West Oz, excellent service as usual!

Hi gunter, try and demo an allwave 9.6 or a 9.10, heaps of great high volume surfing sups out at the moment, but the allwaves still appear to be the most versatile and user friendly.

yeah I'm just at the same stage, just sold my EZ 10 ft and moving onto either a starboard 9.5 WP or a Fanatic Allwave, (9.2) I think !!!!! bloody nightmare trying to pick a board.

It's a bit like that, Rossall. I'm forever trying to get past the marketing hype and into the real deal about what a board is about. I'm reluctant to go past 31" wide as going rail to rail becomes dodgy in anything small to medium. So the Icon dimension seem to be a good fit.
