the 10.8 is a big board. its 34 inches wide and around 190 plus litres. It has stepped rails so while wide the standing area is a little reduced. its super stable and surfs pretty well for a huge barge. its well built and paddles well. i use it to cart my 26 kg dog around, plenty of room for me and the dog. Im just wondering if its too much board for an 83 kg fellow. Im 106 kg and i find it a tad too big for me to surf properly even with the stepped skinnier rails. paddle wise its good but its really more a surf oriented board for really big guys. it will certainly be stable and pretty easy to paddle on the river, however if you just want to paddle you could go a few inches narrower. while 34 inches is really stable you will be pushing a lot of board through the water. The cabrihna also has a lot of rocker, which is great for avoiding nosediving on take off and for turning once on a wave, but not so good if you just want a paddling board. Less rocker means more glide. dont get me wrong the cabrihna is a great board looks really nice and cleverly designed, i just think its more a wave oriented board for 110 kg plus surfers as opposed to a cruiser, paddling board.
