was wondering what people think of these boards?
Is the deck sunken or flat?
Are they stable?

Welcome to the Breeze.. Here's a post that may answer your questions.. Have you demo'ed one yourself?

Here... www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/Stand-Up-Paddle/Review/Picked-up-my-new-Fanatic-126-board/

As you can see by the pics the deck is not sunken.. in fact it's very slightly domed for good water drainoff from the deck.

They are very nice.. btw.. There is a new 14' Fanatic that will be available soon.. It will be more suited to flat water being a bigger version of the 12'6".

Hey dave,
Thanks for the reply.
Had a look at the link and it looks like an awesome board. Just starting to get into long paddling when the surf is flat and looking at starting some downwinders. Unsure about this board or a 14" starboard

A 14" Starboard may be a little small.. .. Warwick came on our down-winder today and he normally paddles the 14' Fanatic but today he used the new 14' Starboard Open Ocean.. We was faster than all of us but he is an energizer bunny like Jonathan.. anyway.. I asked him if he thought he would be faster on the Fanatic and he said yes.. In the very light wind condition he thinks the Fanatic would be better but I'm guessing that if it were very strong winds the Starboard would be the better board because it has a little more rocker.. The 14' Glide is another good option for you and there is a new shape 14' Glide due out next month that is expected to be a better all round flat water board than the current one.. The new 14' NSP is also worth checking out.. You need to demo, demo, demo.

I'm just about to post a short vid from todays down-winder so you can see what todays conditions were like.

Hi Farquo,

Quite a different beast to the Dominator, more volume up front and quite different underhull shaping.

Both very nice boards though.

Sam.
