Well now as part of the Fanatic surf devishion team I was lucky anuff to be the one of the first one out on the new limited edition carbon 12'6 race board today,t I had been waighting a few mounths to get on one but it was worth the waight only had time to do a few miles on the river the first leg being into a 15knot head wind and againts the tide but it made super easy work of it just standing towards the front of the pads sank the bow to the perfect high and was amazing to see how the bow punched efortlessly through the chop,it also makes u realise how important the deck shape is.on the way back I had a few large ship wakes that gave me the opertunatiy to see what it's would bee like in a rolling swell and again it seamed to lock on to them very well as well as noting how well direction could be controlled by useing oposite yaw.oh and lastly this board is light!!!!
All the new line of Sup and surf board will be down in the village on display at the Fanatic stand so pop down and have a look the surf sup are stuning with a exposed bamboo construction.will report more on these when I get on in the desent surf.
I have a few pics of the new race board I will post later but it's worth seeing in the flesh.

Is there anybody in Oz who has paddled this board yet that has some further feedback?

What sort of price point will it sit at?

Thanks

I wonder how it would compare with the starboard pin?

I like the look of this board however at 30.5 wide it might be a bit too much in the mid rift.

That is the one complaint I have of my Pin, bit too much of a potatoe in the mid-rift.

Otherwise this baord has very similar lines to my all time favourite board the Joe Bark 12.6's.

How would it go in big down wind conditions ie 20+ Knotts?

IMO.. These flat water race boards are not good boards for down-winders.

this board hast been designed as a pure flat water board,it was developed in maui and the guys who helped are all very much into there down winders ive been told. i had it in a surf race at the weekend it was more like 15knots and only a tiney swell but it certainly picked them up and im only just geting used to surfing it. i intend to get it on a proper down winder myself just as soon as we get a decent running down the channel and a bit of wind but hopefully were getting into that season now.a few other tested it as well and said it would be there board of choice if the could have a new board.see if you can get a demo on one and try it for yourself

im guessing that was a windfest as well on eater mine or jay board?
i think im really getting it dialled in now and nocked out some great results on it this weekend in booth the sprints and distance coming second in booth.i think with it being so stable it helps a lot as you can just keep the power down 99% of the time appeased to a less stable board were you might miss the odd paddle stroke due to loss of balance, i think quite a few people were very impressed with it this weekend from what ive heard.
