Well now as part of the Fanatic surf devishion team I was lucky anuff to be the one of the first one out on the new limited edition carbon 12'6 race board today,t I had been waighting a few mounths to get on one but it was worth the waight only had time to do a few miles on the river the first leg being into a 15knot head wind and againts the tide but it made super easy work of it just standing towards the front of the pads sank the bow to the perfect high and was amazing to see how the bow punched efortlessly through the chop,it also makes u realise how important the deck shape is.on the way back I had a few large ship wakes that gave me the opertunatiy to see what it's would bee like in a rolling swell and again it seamed to lock on to them very well as well as noting how well direction could be controlled by useing oposite yaw.oh and lastly this board is light!!!!
All the new line of Sup and surf board will be down in the village on display at the Fanatic stand so pop down and have a look the surf sup are stuning with a exposed bamboo construction.will report more on these when I get on in the desent surf.
I have a few pics of the new race board I will post later but it's worth seeing in the flesh.
Charlie
sorey for the delay but heres a few pics of the boards did one quick down winder race on it saterday and it is looking like it could be a very quick board
Is there anybody in Oz who has paddled this board yet that has some further feedback?
What sort of price point will it sit at?
Thanks
I like the look of this board however at 30.5 wide it might be a bit too much in the mid rift.
That is the one complaint I have of my Pin, bit too much of a potatoe in the mid-rift.
Otherwise this baord has very similar lines to my all time favourite board the Joe Bark 12.6's.
Congrats on your results in Hamburg Charlie. Coming away with a 1st and 2nd is a pretty good result for you and Fanatic.
I think I saw one go past me on the roof of a white van when I came in from paddling at St Kilda today.. It looked nice.. ![]()

had a paddle on one today and it felt like a mini k15, just not as fast. must admit i'm tempted by one now i've tried it.
