Hi guys i windfoil and sup foil and in the last two days i have had my first sessions wing foiling. Having windsurfed and sup foiled with straps i naturally want to be strapped for wing dining. My do it all SMIK foil board had the front foot strap plugs set up for natural or goofy foots. Today i realised im gunna struggle sailing toe side so I need the front strap in the middle of the board.
Thought i show how I've solved the problem in case any one else is going down the same path. Yes the brackets have smooth edges and sit down into the deck pad so they are flush to the deck. Once i paint them black it will look better??
You didn't see Robby Naish using 2 front straps, side by side?
Yeah thought the same plus I never ride with my front foot dead centre
I'm seeing this in every pic and video, the front foot during winging seems to be offset at least a bit towards the windward rail (everyone can't be wrong). Can we assume this is somewhat board size dependent, smaller boards one is going to be more centered? What happens then when one lowers the wing for wave riding, downwind or breaking? Foot on the rail 'aint gonna work, yes?
Doesn't matter where I put my size 50, covers the width of most boards anyway

For the record, I do not wing, but I moved my front footstrap a bit towards the rail on my SUP foil board. I found that it is a huge advantage for paddling into the wave, and not a problem once flying, if you already know how to foil.
I would not recommend this front foot position for learning though, as uncontrolled movements will be more detrimental. But once you have a good foiling balance, you can move your front foot a bit laterally.
