Nice review definitely interesting board.Ive been interested in the new 6'11" and the fanatic site never listed it's weight for some time (now know why) saying TBD until recently listing it at 9.2kg or close to 20.5 lbs kinda heavy for a somewhat small supfoil, heck my1st supfoil years ago a SB 8'0" hypernut was a few lbs lighter than that! one important aspect left out of the review my bad if I missed it?kinda a game changer for me unfortunately as I like the board shape and all especially for a big guy at 225lb,but for a board that size with all the build tech out there especially that fanatic has feel they missed the mark here, should have made it lighter that's a bummer!Or at least offered a carbon build model of sorts with a reasonable weight,or maybe they do?that would be nice if there's a option.
Yeah i agree 9kg plus is pushing the limits here.
Just to give some comparison we just finished molding a new 6'5 x 29 x 127L recessed deck problay about the same price as most big brands none carbon boards and weights for these are mid to high 6kg for the full Carbon full PVC sandwich or mid 7kg for the none carbon PVC sandwich. Price is probably one of the cheapest on the market in Australia for the none carbon.
When everyone started making foil boards 9kg might have been ok but now unless the board is really big i would not be getting something that weighs that much because if you want to learn to pump then the lighter the board the better and a KG or 2 can make a big difference.
If it is super cheap i guess 9kg might also be alright and in the learning stages a bit of weight is not a huge deal but once you start to get better then weight sucks. Is there to light? Well not that we have found but we find around that 6kg mark is a good area where the boards are bomb proof and we can still get them light.
