I was repairing my water bottle handle with that glue you use with the uvl light and a thought struck me how would this go as a joining medium for electrical wire. so i bared a piece of trailer wire I had on hand and glued the wire and hit it with the ultra violet light.All good so far.I tested it for strength and could not pull the join apart apart. now all i have to do is shrink wrap some cover over it to waterproof it.How easy is that . no fooling around with hot soldering irons etc,I tested the length of wire with my multimeter and there is no drop in conductivety. Right I now have my helmet on, flack jacket, safety boots .let me have it.

The electrical integrity of the joint is relying solely on the wrap of the joint. There are a number of ways to join cables that are used by professional Cable Joiners to insure a good joint. The glue is only stabilising the joint. If the joint is poor you will end up with a hot joint and a political fire risk. My advise is to forget it unless you know exactly what you are doing and you know how to do a dry wrap. The best joint on a boat is solder.
