15kg Supreme will be fine, but better still check out the 15kg Vulcan from Keoghs Marine. I've used the larger version of both on a 40ft cat and they were streets better than anything else.

What is wrong with the best anchor available on the market today, the Rocna? One could be perfectly happy with a 10kg one for $400 for your size cat even with only a short chain. But go for the 15kg one and you be oversized by a mile.

Btw if one MUST save a miserly amount on anchor what is the next to come?

Rocna is just streets ahead of the rest.

How about to fill in your bio, so we know where you are? Hey?

The Vulcan is made by Rocna. Easier to stow on the rollers and stays there even if you don't have a keeper and is always self launching. Very tolerant of short rodes so great where swinging is limited but breaks out easily when you come up really short..

I would not keep an anchor on the bow on my 28 for a minute. I even pull back the chain into the locker just before the mast.
May be on a bigger yacht, may be, yeah.

The Vulcan is Rocnas version of the Spade. Main difference is it's one piece. If I was to spend money on an anchor it would be a Vulcan.

Here is a link to the Rocna sizing guide. Keep in mind that Rocna also apparently oversize, so there is no need to 'go the next size up'.

The very first thing I did when I bought my B473 was to put a 25Kg Rocna on the bow, and I reckon it was the best bang for buck that I have done so far (upgraded chain too but not enough)...

The 25Kg Rocna held my 12.5T boat in a 40kts breeze 30 metres from a sand bar for 4 days in T.I and didn't budge an inch. That's was when I new it paid for itself..

I agree with this regardless of your choice of anchor. This is the piece of equipment you do not want to be skimping on......
