Having been told Waterways now take boats to the tip by someone I met while travelling on my boat , it was still a huge surprise when I stopped to talk to a boat haulage guy who was busy strapping up what looked like a Riverina 36 or similar to find he was on his way to the tip with it. For Waterways his second trip for the day, what happened to Auctions?.
This boat was neglected but still a very sound vessel.

Yeah man im the type of idiot that would buy an old boat off a waterways auction and then spend years and loads of $$$ doing it up. They should sell one to me!

The coastal tip shops might become a worthwhile excursion, it would be a sight to turn up at the tip and see a half decent vessel parked up on top of the pile !

The Collins sub was blowing so much smoke in the harbour on Sunday
Maybe it should be hauled away too.

It appears that they have already done it

I heard once (cold be a urban myth) that the Navy needed some steering parts for a submarine still in the fleet so they went to Holbrook and took them off the HMAS Otway in the park

Regards Don
