I have a few Victron appliances on my tub and have no complaints. I'm about to throw on some solar panels and will go with a Mppt controller, but is Victon really worth the extra coin?

I installed a Victron MPPT SmartSolar MPPT 100/50 (12/24V-50A) Solar Charge Controller 6 months ago and it works fine. The Victron Connect app which works with bluetooth is pretty cool, easy to keep track of charging and controlling the regulator.

I personally think Victron stuff is worth it. I will be using in an upcoming solar install. When you spend a bunch of cash on AGM batteries you want to know they are being charged properly. The visibility with their app is great.

It's the best I just ordered the battery monitor. Make sure it's the smart version so Bluetooth is added.

Victron and vesper are the best electronic aids for battery's and AIS units I'm finding.

Highly recommended and you can network them all together.

I have 2 victron battery monitors, Battery sense temperature regulator, a 150/35 and a 100/20 MPPT solar regulators and they all talk to each other. Long story why I need all that stuff

I will need to reroute my solar and wind into the battery monitor negative shut when it arrives , one of those fun jobs again!

Two monitors? Ie: redundancy, or both doing different things?

I need to install one of these but who supplies in Aus with the best technical knowledge to know I'm buying the correct model?

U won't look back trust me

I have the 100/50 so I can put up to 50 amps of solar through the system.make sure it's the "smart " version or you will need to re-Order the dumb dongle for another $100!

500w , never seen over 30amp with Solar and wind, I'm adding a 200w Flexi panel so the mppt 100/50 should receive 40ish amp max

Low Energy Developments has been in the renewables since the start,

I have the 75/10 on my trailer sailer a bit of overkill for my needs but for a $30 addition over basic mppt's it's been fantastic.

My only gripe is the mobile app. It resets all tracing data if you a:leave the app at all b:the screen timeout is reached.

Renogy is worth a look for those wanting to spend less.

Mine is working perfectly.

About $200 with BT monitor thingy - 40A

As a life long electronics tech I have seen whats inside these kind of things from many brands and 99% of it is Chinese of varying qualities.

The trick is finding a good Chinese one. One that hasn't much of a brand, hence you are not paying for marketing, just for the guts. If you know what I mean.

ie. Brand names are often the same as many other products, but they have had bucks spent on the brand awarenesss, which you pay for at retail.

I am not saying this is the case with Victron as I don't know. I believe it is a quality product and fair value. I thought I would take a punt on something cheaper though. There is a youtube vid where a guy tests a heap of different ones and they all had the same efficiency within 1%.

I have a 24v system that runs the fridge, anchor winch and nav lights and a 12v system that runs everything else. Sounds a lot better than what it is. Just had to replace the 24v system so considered trying to switch over but that would have meant new fridge. Again considered it, but we want to be cruising full time soon, so it was one or the other...

The 24v does the 24v bank and a mid point reading, while the 12v BMV does the 12v house and the start battery. You cant read both 24v and 12v on the same BMV.

The two solar regulators are also 12v and 24v solar systems.

Unnecessarily complicated, but better and a bit more efficient now as I have just spent a lot of time and money cleaning it up.
