Hi all

I found this video on Varg which is a local boat that was rebuilt by the Wilson's here in Tassie at Cygnet which is just down the river

It shows the boat and a bit of the local scenery on the river as well

a beautiful boat no such thing as an ugly 8 i will be sailing on a 6 in sydney next week

Thank god we have people like that prepared to spend phenomenal amounts of money to build replicas like this.

Used to race against an 8 in Jervis Bay in the '70's. It was nicknamed the submarine! Used to see it briefly at the starting line as we jockeyed about in our Endeavour 24's and then it was gone! Very wet boat.

In the Backroads show about Cygnet on the ABC a few months the owner said he estimated the build cost of Varg would be $400,000 but it ended up being $1,300,000

Yes lovely lines and I would love a teak deck like that. Heaps of work I bet.
