I have changed my mind about buying a bigger boat (MAYBE) and now want to (MAYBE) build a V Berth in my Endeavour 26.
There is nothing there at the moment.
Is there anywhere that I can get ideas and construction techniques.
I know how to do all the tasks. Glassing, carpentry, etc. just need to know the best way to proceed.

Thanks.

Thanks Cruzo.
Gives me something to start with.
Good idea putting something flexible between the hull and the glassed in panels. Just like an expansion joint in concrete.
Much appreciated.

Just run the longitude panels all the way to the bow with that single cross wise bulkhead between them [last photo].
This is how it's done in Top Hats. There are four panels, one each side small one in front centre and and one in rear.

Looks very neat nswsailor.
Is that a timber panel? Or is it just a timber ledger glassed to the hull of the boat?

Valo,
The "timber ledger' was built in during construction, they run the full length of all Top Hats. Its only a 2x1 glassed in.
The "timber panel" is the hull.
Hope this helps

FWIW on our boat (26ft) the vee berth lifts up to access the storage space underneath which means we can store larger items there.

Another point, I don't like being rolled from side to side if it's rolly, so I sleep across the boat not bow to stern.
I've slept through some horrendous rolling and once found myself standing on the hull at West Bay, Percy Isles!!!!!!
Needless to say the Bay was evacuated by all yachts at first light after that night.
