I removed my Tohatsu 4HP and replaced it with the 9.8 HP on my Swarbrick S80 as I will be cruising for the summer.
I ran it in attached to a green bin.
We touched 6.8 knots at nearly full throttle but happy to motor along at 5.5 plus on a small amount of throttle.

It's a great motor. Really light, and even into the teeth of a westerly gale offshore, mine pushed 2 tons of 28 footer about as quickly as the old 12 hp diesel could. I'm keeping an eye out for a short shaft one for the RIB. I'm sure you'll enjoy it for cruising!

Yes, thanks for your comment.
I am sure I will value the power of it when I need it.
I am looking forward to a little motoring for a change.

I wondered who would notice that.
I haven't got round to changing it

do you use a high thrust propeller?
looking to buy the same motor for my triton 24 and was wandering if paying an extra 200$ for a high thrust prop was necessary

Hi Cazou34,
I have a lot more power now than with the 6HP I originally had on the boat.
I was really surprised by the difference between the two.
I think you will be happy with this motor without changing the propellor.

Surely the water in Sydney is warmer than 10 C?
