I had occasion to drive to Brisbane from Bundaberg to pick up my new kerosene stove, swap cars with my son and to put more value in the trip, stop at Whitworths at Kawana and spend $200 on my boat. That all done I thought I would do a bit of "sea gulling" around Mooloolaba.
That of course means swinging by Lauries Marina where I had a chat with Greg Gilliam the rigger, asked about Nick Cox the broker who SirGallivant bought his Adams 28 through after he got me to check it out first, The Wharf marina and the yacht club marina.
On my way to the Wharf I took a few photos. The anchorage looks to be quite full and rejecting the odd yacht.
Looks normal Cisco, that's why they are trying on the 10 days and go thing, the red hull looks like its been anchored there for a while
I reckon limited anchoring in places like this is fair enough but 10 days is a bit light on.
If I happen to be doodling around with an underwater metal detector there one day and get a big beep, I will let you know southace.
How is old Nick? Have you seen him?
He and his partner sold the business to YOTI.
Greg told me he now just does the odd bit of service for his old customers. He is one of the straightest brokers I have met.
Hey Cisco
Sounds like a great score with that kero stove, as mentioned I got parts for my stove from Tilley lamps and stoves, Julian is pretty helpful, seems to have a good range, reasonable prices and it was a quick delivery time.

Thanks for the link Wander66. If one is using a kero stove it pays to have a spare burner or two and some other parts.
