I busted one of my perspex portholes while trying to reseal.
Anyone know a good supplier in Sydney?

I'd like to seat the windows in an aluminium frame, but my searches haven't yielded much. Anyone know if its possible.

Ive used the Melbourne branch just take your old acrylic port light in they will cut it the same size and shape

They cut my sliding hatch cover

and maybe just affix the new ,without drilling holes in the acrylic, they are not required and youll have fewer leaks.

I replaced all my perspex windows with poly carbonate and fixed them with Fixtech ( i can't remember the number) Fixtech is great because it cleans up with metho and creates a super strong bond that doesn't need fasteners.

I just got the local plastics shops to cut out copies of the originals. They had perspex and polycarbonate in stock.

I just peeled the protective cover off around the bonding area and left the rest on then I used a double sided tape on the outside edge of the window to keep the correct gap and then trimmed it off and on the inside I just trimmed off the excess after it had cured.

I used bolts to keep the original frames.

Yeah, I thought I was being smart by replacing the sealant with butyl. Problem is, there aren't enough screw holes to bond the porthole to the fibreglass. So I either go back to sealant (which only seams to last a year), or double up on the screws.

I don't recommend doing what I did never again but I'm happy its done just the same

Its not gel coat as i used epoxy as its stronger
urethane two pack
She is 37 years old and the gel coat was getting thin
