My first yacht was a Javelin that I had in 1976. Plywood hull with timber mast and boom and no bow sprit back then. The boom was quite flexible with three pulleys along it for the main sheet. The flex in the boom pulled the belly out of the main sail.

I learnt a lot from that boat. Good to see the class is still strong.

The previous owner of my Adams 28 sailed a javelin in the national titles.

Hi josusa,

I have added another post with photos of Cherubs I took yesterday at Nedlands WA.

They were absolutely flying downwind - brilliant design...

I took some more Javelin photos at Nedlands yesterday...

Getting to the end of the season now...
