125's race last Saturday morning - sailed in light winds out of the East Fremantle Yacht Club.......

The very narrow starting line made for interesting first legs.......

Great pics showing the diversity of people/ages in our class....which is the largest double handed Dinghy class in WA...surprisingly to many.
Thanks for coming down to our part of the River and hope you enjoyed the day's events.

It's great to see the 125 still doing well in WA. It's a very valuable class and its collapse in some other areas is bad for the sport.

It's interesting to see the pic with the 125 and Sabre together. The similarity in the chine lines really shows how similar they are in that respect, as well as in their rigs and their low budget. I suppose the fact that the Sabre is doing better than the 125, numbers wise, is largely down to the swing to singlehanders since the boats are similar in other ways.

Perth seems to have the best sailing scene in the nation - well organised and with great class racing. Thanks once again, Ironbark.

The Sabres popularity in WA is definitely from the simplicity and no fuss of singlehanding....and dare I say it diversity.The class has attracts mostly those returning to Dinghy Sailing after absence from the sport or sailing other things but is excellent for older or new racers.
125s still get a mix of teens, adult/child and adult/adult teams.
Our recent Nationals has the top 6 teams as mixed teams (male/female).
We are perhaps fortunate here in WA, being a bit isolated means we see less "noise" about new classes set to "revolutionise the sport".

Perth is lucky to have the Swan River which is just perfect for sailing,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

The Sabres are very popular here and the 125 fleet is big enough for exciting and competitive racing.....
