Continuing their pursuit of money Northern Beaches Council have imposed 8 hour parking limits at Mc Carrs Creek Reserve with a fine of course for over staying. Its not possible to go out for an ocean sail and be back in 8 hours.

This was one of the last places one could access Pittwater waterways and park there for for a weekend away sailing with no problem. I and many boaties have used this park for years with no problem. It has never been parked full. Plenty of space.

It looks like the cash hungry Northern Beaches Council have found it. If they claim they need the money for local maintenance take a look in the toilet block there or at Church Point. Frankly disgusting. While I was looking at the brand new expensive signs they posted a former council member from another council and boatie was there and also astonished. She commented that Northern Beaches Council at her council had a reputation for greed.

Every one - please email and ask them to take down those 8 hour parking limit signs. Thanks!

Just copy and past the above

I've responded and added they're excluding "green " water sports. Good luck with it.

Unfortunately, the number of people living in cars has increased with the housing crisis. The new 8 hour parking limit is probably designed to deter camping in the car park and shorten their stay.

That may be their excuse.

But as mentioned I have used the jetty there for more than 10 years and have never seen anyone sleeping in their car. And so what if they did. At the far end of the park an occasional campervan.

A fascinating document from Northern Beaches Council, and its the largest one they print, is their Guide to Fees and Charges. Pages and pages of what you have to pay them.

For years I have taken disadvantaged people from all walks of life sailing and teaching sailing They have put an end to that.

Just had an email from the council that they will be removing the signage and addressing the camping in a different way.

Thanks for the heads up.

Looks like we dodged a bullet getting those parking signs taken down. For those that don't know I think this the only free parking for accessing Pittwater north of Sydney with a ramp and tender access and we nearly lost it. The theory that they were after $$$ would seem proven!!

And we the great unwashed serfs thought the feudal system ended around 1500.

The NBC spends $25 million (assume per annum) on 111 managers, directors and executives. So average $225k. The CEO gets paid more than the PM and premier. 531 total staff - so about 80% are workers - the rest grandstanders, big noters, pontificators and bludgers walking around all and every day talking crap. Totally obscene.

Parking Permits for Rowland Reserve are $216.00 per year. The Beach parking permit sticker doesn't cover it. The fees are listed in that very long list of fees and charges. eservices.northernbeaches.nsw.gov.au/ePlanning/live/Common/Output/LoadGenWebDoc.ashx?id=tHFKMsE3yJoV0A60ki4OEg%3d%3d GO TO Page 54.

Yes, they've just voted a 40% increase, which will be tough. Yes, their management is very fat. The current raft of Councillors will get voted out if they continue on this path.
