Anyone know anything about this? Had a maori man in traditional dress on board. Boats and chopper photographing / filming.

They seemed friendly and waved.

I saw this same Double canoe in Tonga 3 years ago. It was on the way to Hawaii only using traditional islander navigation. You know stars, wave patterns, birdlife and fish etc.
it was quite amazing and the maori guys sailing it were nice and had a bit of a chat about their expedition. I think they were in the NZ army.

Wouldn't be so nice in a big storm in the Tasman, which is why the islanders probably didn't come this way.

I saw it when it was at Coffs Marina a week or so ago. I took some pics. They are going around the world with no electronic navigation.
