Does anybody know who could fix this. Lowrance Service department said they don't service this model any more

Unfortunate as it is, modern equipments lifetime is 20-25 years if you are lucky.
I got the same problem with my Navman. No person wants to touch it.
I think we both are up for an expensive replacement.

What is even more ludicrous in my case, the people who made it 25 years ago, rubbish it the most trying to induce me to buy their new products at the last boat show.

If it's the screen that is being problematic have a look at the ribbon connector and see if that's at fault. This was a very common area of failure. Some of these units can sometimes be repaired replacing the ribbon with a zebra stripe connector.
Unfortunately I have a Navman Fish 4431 that has a faulty screen and the zebra stripe remedy will not work on this model. Damn it!!
