Just bought a Red Witch anyone launched from Point Peron WA.

Point Perron should be fine. I have launched my trailer sailer (red jacket) from every concrete ramp in the Rockingham area without a drama. If you don't have an extended draw bar, you may have to get your tyres a little wet or use ropes to ease the trailer back. The angles on the ramps have to be mild enough to pull the big boats out of so never straight forward with a fixed keep trailer sailer. But even in safety bay or palm beach where the water is shallow, you would be surprised how little depth you need to get going.

I actually prefer to put in at the Palm Beach boat ramp, it's a lot quieter, easier to rig up, and flatter water for sailing.

Thanks mate, will try that. She was a bargin. Trailer is total new build.

Had one earlier this year, gave up too much to rebuild new trailer & fix her up. Stripped it, so got extra mast boom rigging & 4 mains and 6 6 jibs 2 spinikers & heaps of extra rigging, pullies, cleats etc etc.

Will let ya know how we got on.

Does this look familiar? Just after I had finished painting her on the verge and the signwriter put on the name and boot topping stripe. I sailed her from MOFSC in Mandurah. Launched on a rope looped over the towbar. The launch ramp is made up of mini tank traps and killed the jockey wheel so a friend welded on a small axel and I used a larger wheelbarrow wheel which worked very well. As for the name, just google it and all will be revealed. She was called Witch Way Now when I got her. Used to be owned by a guy named Fox (possibly original owner) and called the Silver Fox. Under the blue is Grey and under that is Silver and under that is original gelcoat. Antifoul was there when I got her. Slow as a wet week but can take 30 knots no worries. There used to be a big fleet in Mandurah and this is one of them, hence the MH8 sail number.

Looks beautiful! You may have convinced me to start off with one of these "Reds". There's a (yellow) Red Eagle for sale in Kenwick but I think it's been sitting there for a long time.... just after a sub $2500 starter rig...
I've read launching these can be a bit sketchy?

Looks great! That blue looks brilliant, what type of paint did you use and is it sprayed on?
I am going to go with "Melisandre" the name of the Red Witch from Game of Thrones. In the middle of stripping back and repainting now.

I did a 20nm sail to change anchorages on mine in summer, thought it would take the morning, took the better part of the day, they are a lot of fun on the lean though!

the paint is International Brightsides...Blue somethings or other. Rolled on and tipped off by the Admiral. I would call it a 4' job...any closer and it's not so good. Took her out in 20 knots plus and put her on her beam ends to see what would happen, put the helm down and she just popped up and kept on trucking. I had come from Fireballs and Cherubs so it was slow but could take anything a summer sea breeze could dish out.
