I think the inland side of Straddie, Moreton Island and Frazer island are the Perfect venues for what the Water Tribe do in Florida every year,
Only regs are , Gotta push the boat into the water yourself.

There is the annual "Bay to Bay Race" up the great Sandy Straits from Tin Can to Hervey.

I have done the straits a few times but not the race.

The Great Sandy Straits are my playground that I am busting to revisit soon.

If you ground it doesn't really matter because they are the Great SANDY Straits.

Sailed the great sandy straits a few years ago in a Hartley 16 it was a great trip. Forgot how much room there isn't in a 16 footer
