Hi All,
I'm sailing en route to Australia at the moment from the Caribbean, trying to reach before cyclones begin.
Problem is my Beta Marine BV1505/ Kubota engine is having issues and I've diverted to Tonga to diagnose and repair.
The diagnosis is a shot high pressure injector pump. I've got a friend flying over from Sydney to visit in a couple weeks and so there's the opportunity for them to bring a replacement.
Did message Kubota (Western Sydney dealer) today and they say they can't issue the part because they did not sell the engine. Go figure.
I see the part listed on eBay but estimated shipping from China is 4 weeks.
So any ideas how might I find the part locally (Australia) before my friend departs?
Thanks for any advice, Josh
Beta Aust agents at Taren Pt Sydney are excellent and should be able to assist.

Thank you, I've sent emails to these suggestions just now.
Any suggestions about motor wreckers perhaps around Sydney ?
The western Sydney kabota dealer might be worth another call, it could be a case of needing a mechanic/ ABN if they are wholesalers ? The v1505 look like a popular motor, perhaps a garden tractor excavator mechanic/ wreaking yard ? Maybe engine reconditioners might have a replacement on hand It would seem outrageous to have to buy a complete engine to get access to an injector pump, on the other hand if the pump is worn out it stands to reason the rest of the unit is due for a rebuild.
RE: The diagnosis is a shot high pressure injector pump.
If all else fails I can give it a shot with Kubota here in Japan.
I will need to know EXACTLY what you are after.
Delivery time could be too long from here though.
