Hi Ramona

what are are your thoughts on them as a mate of mine may be interested

Regards Don

Big boat. Beamy with narrow ends. For a centre cockpit boat the interior layout is good. Not sure what this one is like inside. I sent the link to my mate who is in Melbourne at the moment and he does not need another boat but is good at buying! My wife says I can't have it!

"Yoop" is for sale down your way!

Hi Ramona

Yoop is a nice boat but out of his price range

He helped another mate bring a Manitou down here from Sydney a year or so ago and liked the aft cabin layout

If he is interested I don't suppose your mate in Melbourne would be prepared to have a look at and give is opinion on what would be needed to be done it sail it over

My 2 mates are pretty handy and good at making do with what is available so it doesn't have to be all that flash

I kind of hope that the Yoop doesn't sell as we are struggling for boats in the race fleet and she sails with us in some of the races

Thanks for the ad, I showed it to my wife to prove it wasn't worth selling our Carter 33 Passage .
I think she sails really well, the galley is too small but otherwise a comfortable boat.

That boat is at my marina. From what I recall, the damage is quite a bit more than ""minor" with a hole in the foredeck and fittings pulled out. It has been sitting there for ages.

Regardless lots of good spare parts.

About twice the size. The Manitou started out as an aft cockpit 27 foot long keeler. The topsides were raised and a canoe stern added to get the length to 32 feet so essentially it's an old style long keeler. The Carter 33 is based on the IOR racer. I've never sailed on one but always been a fan. This link will give all the info you will need. I would have bought an aft cockpit version though.

Some good quality fittings on this boat. My thoughts are that to pay someone in Melbourne to bring it back to an insurable prospect would cost more than what it would be worth.

Still a real gift for someone with a hard stand available or some time on their hands.

I wonder what the story behind the damage is? Can't see any backing washers or plates there.

Hi Andrew

When i spoke to the owner yesterday he told me about this damage and said that it was caused by a mooring rope getting caught around it
