Hi GuysJust sharing my youtube channel with you in an attempt to get a bit more of a support network along the coast between Hervey bay and Airlie Beach.Plan is to keep doing vids through the year of different places and lengths of time on the boat and then at the end of the year set off from Hervey Bay to Airlie Beach. Trying to keep the vids to a bit of sailing bit of fishing/Spearfishing/crabbing and camp cooking as well as showing people around Hervey Bay, Fraser island and surrounding islands as well as a bit of history.Check it out. Like, comment or subscribe if you like and I hope you guys enjoy watching it as much as I will doing it.Cheers guys!

The Caper Cat is a very capable vessel for what you plan.

It was done 35 odd years ago as the marketing launch for the Caper Cats in Qld and featured in Australian Seacraft Magazine which morphed in to Cruising Helmsman. Back then they took 2 or 3 caper cats from the Gold Coast up to Hayman Island and called it the Hayman Caper.

They did have a support crew that travelled by road and met them at various points along the way. That was challenging because it was before GPS and handheld VHF and mobile phones as I recall.

You should contact Cruising Helmsman Magazine as they will most likely pay you a few bucks for an article.

Have a ball, stay safe and keep us posted.

I have seen the storage on those cats and would love to do an adventure like that in Tassie.
I would love to read and follow your adventure. Are you doing a blog? I use blogspot which allows us to simply send in a post update via a simple email whilst ding it and post photos later when we have cheaper download (library wifi). Its all free too and followers can subscribe to the blog and read a new post via email

Yeah definitely mate, we have them in the hulls and would pull them out if weather turned bad but so far our trips have mostly consisted of nearly no wind days haha drives us nuts!!Thankfully hervey bay does not get unpredictable bad weather very often and the bay has a fair few islands we can retreat to if this became an issue. Thanks for the comment though mate it is appreciated.
