How are things on the east coast?
My new venue (Anglesey) offers a nice beach, but not as long as Redcar, and you need to cross a small river mouth to start off (a real low tide spot!).
Been busy on the new house of late, but got out about a month ago, with some nice steady onshore wind. Been a bit too blowy since then!

we do check in regularly, but for some of us the emphasis is and was on the construction side . we seem to have got into a loop where we were having the same discussions and giving the same advice over and over. at the same time other platforms have developed that are more locally focused ie facebook.
personally I'm in the process of moving and big life changes and am down to 2 land yachts,3 sailboats,6 bikes, 2 sea containers,3 trailers and only one shed which has to double as a home, but we do keep an eye on the site

a couple of us have been out at redcar about 3 to 4 times a week for the last years or so joined by two or three others now and again 4 or 5 ,kite buggies out most weekends,the beach has been flat as a board for most of the year apart from a short spell when it was like an egg box,the wind has averaged out at 15 ish with several 25mph days .For any who don't know the beach its 3 miles from centre of car park(Free from Sept to June)to south gare breakwater. although on east coast its a north facing beach so only bad wind is a southerly but has an average tidal range of 5 meters so at low tide even a southerly is doable close to the sea and far enough away from the dunes,straight up and down from car park. The best being a northerly.
Where abouts on Anglesea are you ringsider,I used to travel there to kite surf at rosnieger(Spelling) thinking about camping up on the Island again at some time.Would consider bringing landyacht if there was a decent unrestricted beach.. fair winds.

same here - drop in regularly, but life gets in the way an awful lot - mind you, before long I might have to build a fleet of hummingbird mini's for my minions

kennatt, I go out at Rhosneigr. Nice beach next to RAF Valley (a bit noisy at times!), but nowhere near as long as Redcar. No restrictions, just a couple of soft patches!

Chook2, do you guys ever sail on the salt lakes, Yarra Yarra Lakes out of Carnamah? or does anybody sail from there?
I'd forgotten all about those lakes until we drove through there a few weeks back.

I'm still around and check in when I can. Life is in the way at the moment...and no shed makes it hard to have the gear for sailing. Hopefully turn this around before too long!

No I have never sailed up that way.
I do a lot of sailing on our local Pink Lake in Esperance. It's about 2 kilometers from my house. (Not to be confused with the "Bubble gum Pink" Lake Hillier on Middle Island off the coast of Esperance as most tourists are.)

I also travel up to catch up with the gang on Lake Lefroy at Kambalda whenever we can.

Would love to try new venues though.

Had a query recently from somebody who was going up that way to live and asking if it was any good. Last time I went it was too soft in the areas that are accessible.
