After a bit of a video drought... Here's the latest action from Eastern Park in Geelong, one of the best spots in Oz for landboarding. George (on the skates) and Goshen, July/Aug 2012. Enjoy :-)

That looked really cool guys. thanks
What size kites are they and what do you weigh? I assume they are smaller than water kites and have a totally different setup? The safety systems look weird. But I am sure they are specific for land kiting.
Did you make the boards yourselves? Hard to find good boards.
I live in Altona and there is a good grassy knoll south of Altona Meadows.
Again great video. Thanks

No worries... They are 9 (mine) / 11m Ozone 'Depower Foils', which are equivalent to similar sized water kites... But, they do have power in much less wind (the days of filming was 15-20 knots - not 25, as you'd probably need on water for those jumps). We weigh about 60/70kg respectively.

The safety on these models is a simple 'front line release', which releases about 2m of front-line, effectively depowering the kite. However, the newer models (2012, 2013), have a 5th line 'flag out' release similar to most water kites.

George has modified the 'blades' to suit landboarding, but mine is a MBS Pro 95, which you can buy off the shelf, at say, Kitepower stores ;-)

Rad,, I'll be bringing mountain board and frenzys whenever I'm down that way..

What are ideal conditions?
I'm guessing northly winds 10-20 knots..

Ps, need tube for MBS board.

I'd even make the trip from the city for a play if nothin else going on.

Karl.
