gidday all,

Iv'e wandered in from land yachts, What am i missing, by not being here before now.
I am, I suppose, finishing my education. My rebuild in land yachting will be finished in such a way as to be able to be experimentally kite powered as well as sail . For me this will be a two person job with the aim to be fast along a path, not hot dogging or extreme. I know very little about kites and their power, but would like to hook up with some sorta knowledgeable people in the S.A. area , who can teach me a thing or two ...... what to do, .......what not to do....!!!!
The only kite action i have ever seen was at Mildura when an acquaintance pulled what appeared to be a folded mans hanky from a paper bag. He said when i tell you ,throw it up into the air. So i did, and this 3square mtr aerofoil type home made 4string, provided enough power for him, in bleacher boots to ski along the headland of a fruit block. I was blown away, there may have been 9-10knots of air speed
Don't think that these huge air wing thingo's, are my go but would appreciate trying out a few different size aerofoils, is that the right terminology
My rebuild is still a couple of months from completion, then i will run some tests but i reckon i should start learning now. What are some of the speeds recorded in these classes .Any help you can offer will be appreciated......cheers.....walkaboutjoe
