whats a good way to get people interested in helping ..Give then something for their effort.. a special WAKSA SHIRT made for the event and a cap ?
also list the jobs required to be fullfilled by the volunteers and those with specific skills can jump in and give a hand .
Cody, I am negotiating "offical" shirts for volunteers with a prospective sponsor. I really want to make sure volunteers are looked after to same level as competitors if possible (food, entertainment etc.) Can't make any promises at this point in time but that is my focus.
Details of "volunteer" roles will be posted once we have discussed roles with WAKSA which I assume will be in the next week, needs to happen before Christmas.
At this point in time I see judging and recording as a major area, wave judging is a lucrative one...sitting on the 25m vessel watching some great wave kiting at Hells Gates....that would be what I would put my hand up for if I was a volunteer.
Again, register interest through WAKSA directly.
iam interested to know who is actually judging the nationals in jan. hopefully someone who can actually determine the difference in technicality. ian young just got back from new caledonia and im pretty sure he was judging which is what we need. people that know the moves and how too score them. new system works well. all we need is some decent judges. so who are they?
