Hey all,
Have been having issues with tennis elbow / kiting elbow - most probably from long downwind surfing runs from Swanny to Brighton. I'm a natural footer, riding the waves backhand most of the time. Every bottom turn is a big pull with my left arm on the kite. Experiencing plenty of pain in the elbow. Have rested it for a while now, no pain at the moment, and looking for advice on exercise regime to prevent it coming back.
Cheers :)

just hold you bar differently- with palm underneath the bar, instead of palm on top of the bar.

When mine flares up I use a tennis elbow strap not unlike this one

When it's tight on the sore spot it redistributes the strain around your arm so seems to work pretty good as a preventative

I had same issues. The best cure was ... water! Try to drink 4-5L of water a day for about one week. Your body need water, kite elbow = dry mucles.

Other tips:
Rest
warm up before a session
Strech (lift your 4 fingers with your other hand)

yep. holding hands in the centre of the bar made the world of difference for me, no more elbow pain. Do you normally kite with your hands at the extremity of the bar?

I had a sore elbow from kiting, I ignored it for a few weeks until I was at the physion for a sore knee. The physio had a poke and a prod, worked out it was a strain and not 'tennis elbow'. He ended up strapping it almost straight and so I was unable to bend it even if I wanted to. Five days with the strapping and a few extra days without kiting and it worked a treat.
