hey would like to congradulate on what i heared was an very succesfull 2007 kitestock.
i have one idea for next yrs kitestock though
im only new to the sport and young so i may not understand busyness reasons why you have kitestock late in the season but wouldn't it be more practicle to have kitestock demoeing all the yrs products at the bigenning of the season so that as people try out new gear they can then buy it and use it for a season instead of it being used for half a season and then sitting in the shed during the off season.
my idea would be to have kitestock late november early janurary so the season has kicked off but then it is still at the time people are buying new gear and its just as the europian models are released for there season.
would be interested to hear if you have any the reason why kitestock is so late but yeh hoping u see my comment as advice not putting you down cause if kitestock can only run on those dates then i would preferre to see it run on those dates then not at all.
cheers safe kiteing

kitestock is not a big kite demo, if your interested in getting a new kite then you should be borrowing from a shop

Hi Sofled,

Thanks for your comments/suggestions.

The dates for KITESTOCK are selected so that we have the best possible conditions ensuring that everyone attending has a great weekend.

February is potentially the best time of year for wind in the Dongara region and this is the biggest influencing factor as to when we hold the event. We have to cater for a huge skills range from beginners to experts and therefore we need a good range of wind, not too strong and not too weak.

Other factors affecting the desicion is infrastruture. Holding an event during the holiday season, ie school holidays (Dec - Feb) puts a strain on the local community and we have to contend with more people. This means less accomodation is available making it more expensive, more people using local facilities and more people on the beaches.

This year we had several world exclusives on kit for demo, which tied in with their Northern Hemisphere summer releases, giving us a sneak peak of what's coming.
