To, the lagoons are ok , the winds can get a bit lumpy in the little, you need a 4wd for the big , when you come into town take a left at the roundabout and head south, you get clean winds shallow water and pretty flat due to the high weedbeds, I've seen a few people learning here

Hi mate,

It's nice to kite in Denham. I used to go there last year, I had 25 up to 35 Knots every single day, during a week.

You should go to little lagon (the road on the right just before Denham).
It's fuc** flat even with 35 knots > good for a speed session.

Just one thing, there in a "ranger" in Denham, with a purple car, he's just decerebrated...

Cheers

Shell beach is quite fun on a SW... it is offshore, but you can hug the coast and head north. Look down and check out the sharks and rays shoot by.

My 2 pennies worth on denham...

kited a fair amount there last year, the little lagoon is a bit strange as the wind comes via the hill on which Denham is located... great for BBQs!

Kiting on the beach in front of the town should not be recommended as few places to rig and boats...

Best place is outside of town: 3kms before denham coming from the main road there is a dirt track on the left and it goes down to the view point where you can see denham, secluded beach, knee high water (low tide you may have to walk. even a picnic sheltered area. I had a ball down there alone last year at the start of january... 40 knots on the 6M... on my own...

BYO girl friend policy applies in Denham... ;-)

Hey guys,I'm currently living in Sydney but looking some mates in Perth as I'm going there over christmas and New year. I was thinking to go to the north up to Denham, so if anyone is interested to catch up that would be great.Cheers.

I'm also new to the sport, learnt at the end of last season, bought my gear and then the wind died, looking to get back into it now the season is starting again.

I work a 2 and 2 so i've plenty of time off work for kiting trips. Have you found any good beginner spots close to Perth? I hear Pinaroo Point and Safety Bay are meant to be good.

All depends on your setup. If you can get off road and are self sufficient. there are some magic places in the Stations just south west of Denham but still in shark bay. I had 4 days there kiting everyday and did not see another car, boat or person after leaving the tarmac.

Epic flat water. Dugongs the works it was magic... My secret spot

We found this one spot, I wont say its a secret, becasue we managed to find it.

There is this secluded spot that is flat as the pond. it happens to be protected by this shell spit that goes out a good 150m... very shallow and i did get scrapped a few times by the shells.

Christmas and new year will be super hot up north, and apparently lots of flies. Not sure about the wind around that time, I hear October/November are the best months to go there.

Can you point it out on google maps and sent it by PM? I will be travelling down the westcoast from Exmouth to Perth in november and december. If the location is really nice maybe that's the spot I will ask her to marry me.
