Folks,

We're heading over to Perth next week for a couple of weeks... i had thought that it was pretty much always windy there at this time of year, but all the weather forecasts seem to be saying 15kts max until at least Sunday...

From everything i've read, I was thinking that i'd never need anything bigger than a 10m over there, but forecasts suggest bigger might be needed... Are these forecasts unusual at the moment or have i missed something?

Also, will be staying some of the time in Duncraig, where's the best place to go around there?

Any thoughts or guidance would be great...

Cheers,
S.

Head north, the mid west lives up to those claims. You'll have a blast there mate.

Or get a big kite for the light wind days, the conditions are a norm. At least over the past 3 seasons I've been here.

Pinnaroo and Mullaloo are closest to Duncraig.

About 10min and super easy to find. Cott, Leightons etc are all about 20-30min

Perth is an internationally over rated spot, the real wind blows in the mid west away from the frappes and lattes

Plenty of places for frappes and lattes up here, culinary HQ ****s all over Dome but a Muzz Buzz would be nice so I don't have to get out of my car on the dash to Corros

And to stay on topic, the wind overall has been crap up here the last two weeks.

For sure, Eppo is up at Horrocks, apparently it was 20-25 up there today, I drove down to Perth this arvo and somewhere around Jurien it started dropping off, by the time I passed Leightons on the way to Neil at HTL it was a flat, off shore breeze.

Hi,

I planned to come back to Perth for a kitetrip from the 15th february to the 3rd of march.

I'm wondering how starts the windy season compare to the last ones?

This season is looking good, funny though all of the BOM's modeling seems to be off though as when comparing actual wind patterns to predictions we are windier in Perth.

Feb is usually the hottest month so the wind backs off, but who knows. To date it has been a far better season.
