Preliminary notice – final confirmation on Wednesday

The forecast for this weekend looks good, WNW around 18 knots all day with around 2.5 m swell and rising.

So we are good to go for Saturday 4th August. The comp will be held in front of the main carpark at Secret Harbour.

The competition will be an expression session format and groups of competitors will be judged on their efforts over long heats. Given the likelihood of challenging conditions and the expression session format, there will only be an open division, but there will be prizes for the best Junior, Women, Master, Grand Master and Amateur. There will also be prizes for the best air and best wipeout.

Registrations will be on the beach on the day from 10.30 am. Entry fee is $10 to cover cost of trophies. Safety briefing and outline of the day's event will be at 11.00am with the first heats commencing immediately after that. We expect to wrap up the competition by about 4, with presos on the beach to finish up.

A photographer will be there on the day to capture all the action.

See you all @ Secret Harbour...

Well the conditions are still looking good for Saturday. Any chance of posting a link to some Google maps or something for the non local crew that would like to come down and don't know exactly which beach to head to.

Yep, based on tonites forecast it still looks on, but the wind could be pretty much over by mid arvo. The forecast keeps moving so it's pretty hard to call. I will make a post wed night with (hopefully) final times and include a map

Update - Final call on Friday

The forecast is not looking so good for the weekend. It has moved around all week and unfortunately is now getting marginal. Sunday morning looks the best chance.

The approved comp window was last weekend and this weekend. So we cannot roll to future weeks without completing another council approval process. So in the interest of getting a comp away, we will make a final call on Friday.

Hopefully the conditions will improve to give us the 3 to 4 hours of wind we need.
