The State Wave Titles were held over the weekend at South Brighton. You couldn't really ask for better conditions a waist to head high left and right bank and the southerly blowing howling all day. We got underway at 11 with 32 competitors working their way through about 20 heats with finals at 5pm.
Overall the crew ripped it up with Ryland Bakeney taking out the open event and Anh-Dao Jeannerat. Full results below.Highlights included the juniors pushing their way onto the stage some smooth air and smart competitive surfing. They didn't quite get past the old guard who put on a typically polished performance. The best wipeout comp was hotly contested with downwind dudes getting taken out, competitors getting taken out and even a body drag up the beach.
Big thanks to Kite Addiction/Cabrinha for sponsoring the event - awesome haul of prizes. Thanks also to WAKSA and everyone who played a part. For those competitors who didn't make the presentations, your prize (everyone gets a prize) and if you placed, a certificate and trophy (which are on the way, we will email you on this) are all out at Kite Addiction for you to collect.
There was lots of phots taken by Grordon of TSP and others - see www.truespiritphotos.com

yewww - nice work by all organisers and competitors! can't wait for some more pics
I stopped for a gander (just up wind) around 4pm and saw some good action, including a few nicely stomped airs by the goofies... might have even been that Charlie Wise best air as it was a lofty one! certainly couldn't have asked for much better conditions
stoked for yas ![]()
hope the majority of DWers showed enough common sense to head around or swiftly through, and hope the competitors still had a bit of energy to kite to trigg - scarbs section after flags was gooooooooood. ![]()
