The start of the 2005/2006 Kite Surfing season is finally here and to kick things off, WAKSA has decided to organise a Downwinder and BBQ on Sunday 25th September 2005.

This event is planned as our 'Season Opener' and is being put together for all kiters to come together and have a great afternoon. Also, it will be a good opportunity to talk about what WAKSA has been up to over the off season and discuss the reasons why it is worthwhile renewing your membership.

If you are not a member, come along anyway and catch up with everyone; the main aim of the day is to have a bit of a social gathering. Remember, it's a public holiday on the Monday so it's a good excuse to have a relaxing afternoon BBQ and beer with the rest of the crew.

If the wind doesn't make it, then there'll be more time for eating, drinking and having a few laughs to kick the season off.

We hope to see you all there. All you need to do is rock up!!

Point your browers to kiteboardingwa.org.au/ for all the details.

*** IMPORTANT UPDATE ***

WAKSA have decided to move the starting point of the downwinder to the Floreat Groyne just North of City Beach.

Many members have not participated in a downwinder before so having a shorter distance makes the whole thing a lot less daunting. This will also leave plenty of time for a bit of a session at Brighton.

Everything else still stays the same; we will bus WAKSA members and their kit from Brighton to City Beach, then provide a BBQ and beers at Brighton throughout the afternoon.

Remember, this is open to ALL kiters, so come down, have a kite, have a beer and chat with the rest of the crew.

Be at Brighton Beach, Scarborough by 12 to catch the first bus down!

All info on the WAKSA site - kiteboardingwa.org.au/

If you are planning on coming then please drop Graeme an email secretary@waksa.org.au
mailto:secretary@waksa.org.au so we can make sure we have enough food and drink.

Absolutely. And that's also your ticket if you want to hitch a ride on the bus ;-)
