Hey fellas,
Ill be having a short vacation in perth this coming weekend. Most likely be staying around Applecross area.
Seeking some recommendations on kite sizes and locations to kite.
I got a 15, 10.5 and 8m. Is the forecast for perth metro accurate enough? If it is, doesn't look too good for the weekend, except on sunday, which means id only have one day to kite. Thinking of just bringing my 8m. If the winds crap i wont be kiting, and just cruise around perth and freo with my longboard.
Would love to do a downwind though and enjoy the coastal scenery. Heard Trigg south car park is where the gathering for this? Recommended by 'Upwinder'.
I got no preference on water condition. I just want to enjoy the scenery, and maybe boost big on the tt.

Not the best timing for a kite trip in Perth unfortunately. Without a doubt the worse Feb-March I've seen in the last 7 seasons here. Weekend looks light and probably not going to be a proper sea breeze so bring a big kite if you really wanna kite.
Good luck

Hey Christian, yea i might have missed the season. The trip isnt entirely for kiting, i guess thats fine if theres no wind.
ill bring the 10.5m just in case im lucky enough.
What concerns me is the forecast showing offshore wind for sunday-tuesday SE. Im guessing woodmans or sandy bay are the ideal spots. Or even swan river ??Hoping it wont be too gusty.

yep, SE's are notoriously terrible in Perth and give you very few location options. Gusty and most of the time light. Depends what conditions you're used to over East but here the vast majority of kiters won't even bother
