Many kiters living in the southern suburbs (Palmyra, Melville, Beaconsfield, White Gum Valley, Hilton, Hamilton Hill, South Fremantle & Fremantle) may be aware of the proposed Roe8 extension proposed by state gov't - involving putting more trucks onto roads & highways. The highway extension is a six lane highway & tunnel cutting through bushland & wetlands, and will require the compulsory acquisition of homes and businesses.

There are two controversial proposed routes - www.cockburn.wa.gov.au/Council/Documents-and-Publications

For those of us in these suburbs, you might be interested in looking at www.rethinkthelink.com for more info.

The Hamilton Hill Community Group is organising a community forum on Sunday 5th July 2015 at the Cockburn RSL 73 Frederick Road, Hamilton Hill. More details here: www.facebook.com/HamiltonHillCommunityGroup

It would be interesting to see the cost of rail networks in comparison to the highway and there long term efficiency.
The perth airport link is over 2 billion for 1 rail line.
Perth is still a big country town in comparison to most capital city's around the world.
Infrastructure is inevitable .
I hope they get it right !

I don't have strongly held views on this, but I kinda see it more as taking existing traffic off unsuitable roads of Leach hwy and high st (which is a residential road) and putting them on a safe efficient thoroughfare.

More trucks on the roads Slave, more traffic in the southern suburbs means that it is possible it will take crew a longer time to get to their respective locations, which means we will have less time kiting.

Simples.

"LOL".
